Giving Back
Sally Kocen would like to share an opportunity with you to give back, with the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. As many of you know Sally's daughter, Stephanie, was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) two years ago. Stephanie shared with us, "Last year I spent so much time in a wheelchair and this year I am riding a bike! I have found so much pleasure in activities that I used to take for granted."
Although her RA is not cured, it's under control. Stephanie hopes to see the day when we are able to end the pain and disability associated with arthritis. One of their annual fundraising events is the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis and Stephanie is proud to say that this is her second year as chairman of the event. Thanks to your support, last year Steph's eRAsers raised over $8,600 for the Arthritis Foundation!
This year, the 2007 Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis will be held at the campus of Old Dominion University on Saturday, December 1st. Please take this opportunity to join her team, make a donation or simply forward this information to someone you know.
Thank you for all your generosity and support.
Workforce Investment Act Youth Program
OppInc. Youth Employability and Success Program is seeking Workforce Partners that would take the opportunity to invest in the future workforce by exploring a Youth Work Experience/Internship Program.
The purpose of the Work Experience/Internship Program is to provide job specific training and mentoring to eligible youth ages 14-21 who are engaged in active and productive training within our program.
The Partners will receive a trained work ready employee at no cost, while developing a responsible young adult ready to enter today's business world. This program enables OppInc to pay the wages of the youth while they gain work experience. Partners will greatly impact the community by working and mentoring our youth.
