IN THE NEWS
Sandy Dumont- was just featured in a front-page story with MSNBC and a few weeks ago was interviewed live by FOX TV News. Congratulations Sandy!
Judith Forsyth, Bending Tree Tai Chi Kung - NAWBO's Exceptional Women, Exceptional Leaders contest honors women entrepreneurs who have integrated business success with a commitment to serving others. Judith Forsyth, a runner up in the contest, is owner of Bending Tree Tai Chi Kung.
I was trying to recover from a car accident when I found the healing art of Tai Chi. With the support of my family, I left the corporate world and became an instructor. After working with students for many years, I brought my most advanced students to dinner and asked them to support me in a plan to build a school for instructors. This year the school added six new instructors to the nine previous ones, and now we are all working to help others be well in our community.
I believe in leadership by compassion and consensus. I formed a corporation and my all volunteer company has grown over the years. This year we opened the first Tai Chi center in our city. As the teacher, I try to help each person on their path to wellness. As a leader, I try to balance the desire of many to keep the ancient ways of this moving meditation practice while working in the modern world. We do demonstrations for community programs, have scholarship programs, and help young people get started with our intern program. In 2007 we will complete the paperwork for our non-profit 501 3 C. I love my company!
